AFP holds 8th Regional Youth Leadership Summit (RYLS)

General Headquarters, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, QC – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) organizes the 8th RYLS – National Capital Region (NCR) that will take place on May 25-27, 2018 at Joint Task Force – NCR Headquarters.

Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) is an annual event by the AFP designed to equip the Filipino youth in promoting and upholding good citizenry. It further seeks to mold them in leadership, peace, nationalism, cultural sensitivity, among others which are significant factors in pursuit of national stability and development.

“NCR Youth, United for Peace”, as this year’s theme is aiming towards ending cultural and spiritual boundaries between Christianity and Islam, as well as deepen the understanding of their beliefs in bringing them to one accord. For this reason, the 8th RYLS will be attended by 70 participants, divided accordingly to Christian and Muslim influences, who are ages 18-22 years old residing in NCR.

Further, the 8th RYLS include lectures on the roles of youth in advocating for leadership, security threat assessment, and cultural and religious consciousness. This is also an avenue to gather together equally talented and skillful young minds and develop esprit de corps among them through team-building activities.

his activity is spearheaded by Joint Task Force – NCR and 7th Civil Relations Group in collaboration with other AFP units, Youth for Peace and Development Movement Philippines, National Youth Commission, NCR Police Office, Department of Interior and Local Government Unit, Bureau of Plant Industry, Rotary Club of Pasong Tamo, Teach Peace Build Peace, and Calriger Technologies.
